Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
Responsible for providing technical expertise in the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of an existing high-volume, data intensive system. Position requires critical thinking and problem solving abilities to address complex issues involving data movement and data replication among geographically dispersed components of the overarching system. The candidate must have strong core Oracle DBA skills and have the ability to install and maintain Oracle instances. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to provide database administration support to the deployment team. Position requires travel to the war zone as well as other international locations. Deployment lengths are targeted at 60 days with the expectation of 33% – 50% yearly travel. Additional responsibilities include supporting multiple system environments (lab, production sites); developing and maintaining scripts and programs; maintaining replication between source and target databases; installing Oracle products and managing patching; analyzing performance issues and providing recommendation based on testing results; proactively diagnosing and resolving problems affecting database; maintaining database configurations in compliance with release management and change management; participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
The candidate will work with a cross-section of organizations, including other DBA’s, systems engineers, developers, deployers and the management team. Excellent analytical skills, time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi task, ability to routinely make effective and timely decisions in alignment with management direction is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in related technical discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
• TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
• Minimum 6+ years experience with hands-on Oracle 10g
• Minimum 3+ years experience with logical/physical data design
• Experience with Oracle backup and recovery
• Experience with Storage management, including Oracle ASM
• Experience with Unix operating system and Unix scripting
• Experience with Oracle 11g preferred
• Experience with Oracle Data Guard and Streams is desired
• Proficient in SQL and in implementing SQLPLUS and PL/SQL
• Experience working with Oracle support
